William Hill buys out Playtech

Online casino William Hill is now a free agent, thanks to their buying out heavyweight partner Playtech today.

Online casino games creator Playtech, a giant in the online gambling industry, had a 29% stake in the online casino power house William Hill until this morning.

The move allegedly cost William Hill the princely sum of £375 million.

The reason for the buy-out seems to have to do with the casino, who gets 90 percent of its revenue from the UK, setting its sights on other, overseas clientele to continue its growth in Europe.

The option to buy out Playtech was included in the casino and casino games creator’s first contracts when the two joined forces in 2008.
