Massachusetts forum on online gaming announced

Valentine’s Day will be a fraught one this year in terms of casino gambling laws in the US, as the state of Massachusetts is holding an online casino games forum on 14 February next week.

The forum is to be a public one, and will be held at the well-known Langam Hotel within Boston.

The subject of discussion will be state treasurer Steven Grossman’s announcement at the end of last year that Massachusetts is looking to change legislature to make it more lenient to online gambling – specifically motions to pave the way for the Massachusetts Lottery to sell lotto tickets and other games online.

Among the items on the agenda are speakers to present on whether or not online casino games can be addictive and harmful to people predisposed to gambling and/or vulnerable groups, such as children and addictive personality types.
