Chino Rheem Triumphs at World Poker Tour Championship 2013

Chino Rheem bested many well-known poker players at this year’s World Poker Tour Championship and walked away with an incredible $1, 150, 297 and 1008 card player of the year points. Rheem defeated over 145 entrants in this $25 000 buy-in tournament. This is his second World Poker Tour main event title. Rheem’s winning streak started at the Five Star World Poker Classic series held at Bellagio, where he finished once in fourth position and twice as the runner-up. These successes have pushed Rheem to 25th position in the overall POY rankings.

This year’s World Poker Tour Championship included many well-known names, such as Jonathan Roy, David Peters, Brandon Steven and Erick Lindgren. It was an intense tournament where these professionals played over 258 hands before a clear winner emerged. Roy came in 3rd place, for which he received $421, 800. The real contest was between Rheem and Lindgren though. These two fought a tough, lengthy battle of over 100 hands during which Lindgren doubled up. Yet in the end Rheem could not be defeated and Lindgren had to settle for the $650, 275 runner-up prize.
